Usher has earned one of the biggest gigs of his career: The 2024 Super Bowl LVIII halftime show.

Roc Nation, the NFL and Apple Music announced Sunday that the “Yeah” singer will take the centerstage February 11, 2024 at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to
bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his
own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul,”
Jay-Z added. “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”

Super Bowl LVIII will take place Feb. 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Maybe not so coincidentally, Usher has been based out of Vegas for the past few years: In July 2021, he launched a residency at the Coliseum, while the following years he switched venues to Dolby  the following year he switched venues to Dolby Live and launched “Usher: My Way.” This new residency has become a massive hit and currently has shows scheduled through early December.

“Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his
career, we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime
Show,” Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books.”

Outside his Vegas residency, has been taking on the occasional festival set, like Lovers and Friends and the 2023 Dreamville Fest. At the latter event, back in April, he treated fans to a wicked April Fool’s joke, introducing a special appearance from Beyoncé before reminding the crowd what day it was.

As for music, Usher hasn’t released a proper solo album since 2016’s Hard II Love, though he did team with the producer Zaytoven for a collaborative effort, A, in 2018. Still, Usher released a steady stream of singles and collaborations over the past couple years.

This year, he dropped “Good Good” with Summer Walker and 21 Savage, “Dientes,” with J Balvin and DJ Khaled,” and the solo cut “Boyfriend.” (The latter track notably arrived with a music video featuring Keke Palmer, whom Usher had serenaded during his Vegas show earlier that year, eliciting a bit of ire and frustration from Palmer’s boyfriend at the time on Twitter.)
